Our Mission Statement & Values

Picture
Central Nova Women's Resource Centre provides opportunity for females of all ages to develop personal and social growth in the following areas of life: self, family, employment, education, leisure and community.

History

Established in 1999, Central Nova Women's Resource Centre ( CNWRC) is recognized as a community-based organization. We officially opened our doors  in January 2000 in a one room office located at the Nova Scotia Community College, Truro Campus. We have re-located twice and are now at 676 Prince Street, Truro.

In 2005 CNWRC acquired charitable status. Our core funding from the Department of Community Services, along with various other sources of community contributions, have assisted us with our vision of "women helping women".

CNWRC staff recognizes and respects the diverse needs and realities of women's lives. We strive to provide our services in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental manner, respecting all women regardless of their socio-economic status, age, race, religion, ability and sexual orientation.

We work closely with other community groups and agencies that share our goal of promoting social change for the advancement of all women. Whatever your question or concern, if we cannot be of service, we will help you find someone who will be will give you the support you need.
